Fees and practical details
I offer a sliding scale to keep my services accessible while keeping my practice viable.
I invite you to choose the highest rate you can realistically sustain over the medium term. People with more financial flexibility help make the service accessible to those with less.
| Length | Standard | Reduced | Accessible |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 minutes | $160 | $140 | $115 |
| 75 minutes | $190 | $165 | $135 |
| 90 minutes | $225 | $195 | $160 |
Sliding-scale places
Each week, a maximum of three places, reduced and accessible rates combined, are available. They are offered according to availability.
Rates are reviewed as needed, together with you, so they stay accessible and sustainable over the medium term.
Choosing a sliding-scale rate has no effect on the quality, commitment or content of the support you receive.
How to choose the rate that suits you
Choosing a rate can be uncomfortable. I invite you to think about it honestly, and kindly toward yourself. The aim is neither to pay as little as possible nor to put yourself in difficulty, but to find a rate that is fair and sustainable for you.
In our society, access to resources is not equal. Some people face real obstacles tied to their history, identity or circumstances, while others have more security or support.
If you are able to choose a higher rate, you directly help make these services accessible to people who need them more. This system rests on trust, responsibility and mutual respect.
A few points to consider
- How stable your income is
- Your current expenses and debts
- Your financial responsibilities
- Whether or not you have insurance
- The support you have around you
Payment
- By Interac e-transfer or credit card
- Payment is usually expected on the day of the session
- An official psychotherapy receipt is issued after each session
Insurance
Many insurance plans cover psychotherapy. I do not bill insurers directly for now: you pay for the session, then submit your receipt to your insurer according to your coverage.
Please check your coverage with your insurer. Direct billing may be added in the future.
The first sessions
The first sessions are a space to take the time to understand you well. We explore what brings you to therapy, how your difficulties show up in your life, and what you would like to change.
I sometimes use questionnaires to better understand certain symptoms. We also take time to revisit your history, including your family and developmental background.
This assessment usually takes four to six sessions. It lets us build trust and agree on a clear plan of work, with a rhythm that suits your needs.
Starting therapy
Write to me to let me know you are interested. I will reply and, if it helps, suggest a short exploratory call.
