Expanded states of consciousness

I support people who wish to explore their inner world through non-ordinary states of consciousness, within a therapeutic, safe and integrative frame.

A clear frame

  • I do not provide psychedelic substances.
  • I do not organize illegal sessions.
  • My support is limited to preparation and integration, from a harm-reduction perspective and within Canada's legal framework.

Preparation and integration

I do not accompany the experiences themselves. My work happens before and after, where most of the therapeutic process takes place.

Preparation

  • Clarifying intentions
  • Assessing psychological safety
  • Resourcing techniques
  • Grounding

Integration

  • Making sense of the experience
  • Turning insight into lasting learning
  • Emotional stabilization

This work follows a harm-reduction approach, aiming for experiences that are as safe, conscious and structuring as possible.

How I approach these states

These states can be powerful, destabilizing and deeply transformative. That is why I prioritize psychological safety, respect for each person's pace, gradual integration and a clear therapeutic frame.

I know the power of these states, and their shadows too. I know when to go deeper, when to contain, and how to support integration so the experience leads to change rather than disorganization.

The legal framework in Canada

Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is currently tightly regulated in Canada. Access is limited to specific contexts, notably end-of-life care and treatment-resistant depression or other severe conditions, under certain exemptions.

I can support these processes when it is appropriate and consistent with current regulations.

If you want to explore legal access, TheraPsil is a Canadian non-profit that supports patients in their applications to Health Canada.

Holotropic breathwork

I co-facilitate holotropic breathwork workshops with Alain Menier of Montréal Holotropique. This approach explores expanded states of consciousness without any substance, through breath, music and a safe setting.

These experiences can open deep processes that can then be integrated in psychotherapy. They are also a way to meet me before committing to therapy.

The workshops take place at Studio Parbleux, in Montréal's Mile-End.

Who this support is for

This support may be relevant if you:

  • are living with a difficult or significant experience after an altered state of consciousness
  • want to prepare in a serious, supported way
  • are trying to make sense of something you lived through
  • want to integrate these experiences into a broader therapeutic process

These approaches are not shortcuts to healing. They open doors, and it is the work of integration that makes change real and lasting.
